so after too long i finally saw a deer with antlers today in green swamp. He was trudging thru water and i just did not have the shot. going with a different method to my madness this year. Going after i get my grampa taken care of in the morning and enjoying the entire afternoon hunting instead of going early rushing and worrying if he is going to be ok the whole time. This season has been the most relaxing so far since my first year hunting deer in Ocala. Maybe with the relaxation i will hunt better. I was carrying my grampas old double barrel in it today with buckshot, it is the only gun i have had success with on public land, and i feel karma when i am holding it and walking thru the woods.

Lol finding a deer out there this season is like looking for Bigfoot. Might as well be unicorn season. Ill try my luck again this week though. At least I have hope now

The way you are hunting is usually the way I hunt WMA's. Go mid morning when everyone is coming out of the woods, find you a tree and sit till dark

I tell ya Allen it eases my mind tremendously knowing that my grampa is out of bed and safe. My neices and sister can stop in throughout the afternoon and check on him make sure he has something to drink. I dont sit in my stand hoping he is ok till i get there. Although i dont know how much time i will actually spend in a stand this year due to my back/leg pain.
