I drew the antlerless deer hunt this year. Anybody hunt there before? Are there any campsites around?
There is a big huge campground between the NWR and Cedar Key. Can't remember where exactly, been a while
FWIW, a dude on another site just killed a monster in there last week. Supposed to be the biggest archery buck EVER for the county
There is a campground over there called Shell Island Campground. There is bathrooms,electric, and showers there. They also have a skinning rack behind the bathrooms.
Good deal. I understand its open during regular season with a signed brochure correct? Are there a buttload of hunter there?
You have to have the signed brochure and a FL hunting license. It has been a few years since I hunted there but it was never overcrowded when we were there. We found it convenient to use bikes to get around since there are roads closed to motorized vehicles.
