I can tell you that I put in quota apps for a lot of folks that either don't have computers or don't know how to do it themsleves. If they get selected they always know and come in to get them printed. This year I made sure that everyone that I printed out a quota for I told about the Oct deadline.

If we didn't have quotas I would recommend they close down about a dozen select WMA's to hunting all together.

New system is up and running, but not perfect yet. Some places have no issues (fwc website) others (Wal Mart & K Mart & others) are having issues. I am able to process a license for most things but there are a few bugs that need to be worked out to make the system work like it is supposed to (right now I have no option to renew a license while the old one is still good, but am supposed to be able to).
ANYWAY, I spoke with the new license vender rep about several things and during our dicussion the question of Guest Permits came up. As I had believed, NO GUEST PERMITS WILL BE ISSUED DURING THE MONTH OF OCTOBER. They will be available again starting in November, however with a difference.
In the past the person who was the Guest had to apply for the permit and provide the Permit Holders information with customer number and hunt number. Under the New System the Permit Holder will apply for the Guest and provide the information for whom the guest is to be. This change was done due to some folks getting Guest Permits on someones hunt without their knowledge. All you had to know was their customer number and what hunt they had been awarded and you could get the guest permit. The new system insures that the Permit Holder gets to select the guest he/she wants. A good move in my opinion.
If this turns out to not be the case, I'll let you guys know.
