Looking for some advice. I have hunted the Grove Prk Area (before it was Grove ParK). I have been out of hunting for a the last few years. I guess it had been longer than I thought since I have been in the woods, recently introduced to the quote permits (a little late for this year). My son is ready to start going with me. I am looking for an area to hunt during General Gun (no quota permit). I live in Sumerfield and ran across Jumer Creek will checking out WMAs in the area. I have done a little scouting and saw a few hogs and two does. I have also seen mixed reviews on the number of hunters utilizing this track. I would appreciate some advise as to if I should hunt the area (with a child for the first time), or keep looking. Thanks for the info in advance.

This is the WMA i started hunting back in the day. A buddy of mine has some property near the northern most parking area.

Do you have a boat? its a lot better to put in at the outlet park and go down the outlet towards the west and the WMA starts about 300 yards down on the south and goes all the way down past jumper creek. Pretty much everyone who hunts there parks at the couple parking lots and all hunt not far from the truck. Also your gonna need some rubber boots cause its usually pretty wet in there. and id recommend a GPS cause its really thick back in there. I know people who have taken really good deer in there you just gotta get where no one hunts. hope that helps :toast

Thank you for the tips. Yes I have 14 ft v-hull. Slow but steady. Sounds like we need to take a little boat ride. Is the Management area marked from the water way? :eagle
