Yes, Ted is correct. If you want say Seminole Ranch GG (just using an example), and that hunt only..Writing it as your first choice is all you need to do. Writing the same hunt on all 5 lines does not give you 5x better chances. If you put in other quotas as choices 2-5 and one of them is an easy to get quota, you will end up with one of those, more than likely. On my archery, GG and ML apps this year, I only filled out the first line. I wanted three hunts specifically, or nothing.. and got them
On the family hunts I applied for something in all 5 lines, as I was not as choosy. And got nothing
So, I got an answer back from the possum police. Seems you guys are correct. And here I was thinking I was smart when in fact I was just pretty darn lucky the past 4 or 5 years. Should have been playing the LOTTO instead. LOL!
I put all my selections in at 1 WMA for archery and gun. It takes a minimum of 2 points to get in it seems, I used them up last year.
first you get a good hunting partner. You split the locations on the first draw that way one will get a choice, then you use the guest permit system and get points for the second to use next year.
Or you could be like this guy I know down south that puts in his wife, kids, mother, father, migrant workers and any other bum he can pick up on side of the road so he can be their guest...
