I've heard good things and bad things about the Baird unit. More bad than good, but I've never been out there, so I want to experience it for myself. I'm planning to take my daughter out there with me so she can try out her new 22. Can anyone point me in a certain direction to start with? Are the roads 2wd accessible? I haven't killed a hog this year, so that would be a bonus, but more looking to get some quality time with her. Any advice would be appreciated.

I haven't hunted it in small game season, only rifle. I did hear from a regular that it gets crowded

I was in there last weekend with a group. Roads are all good. Mostly dry land, some water here and there in the swamps. Easy to get around, some burned areas here and there.
Place is ate up with deer sign, fresh rubs and scrapes all over.
Plenty of hog sign, seemed the hogs are scattered and are moving into the open fields at night to feed on pink root.

I hope to head up there soon. I need to scout for the Turkey hunt my son has coming up.
