you hunt them for the trophy, not the meat...sorta like what does a 7 year old buck taste like. The meat on goats is a lot greasier than lean venison, it is not like adding pork to your ground venison.
Being from Tx and S Tx especially we ate goat all the time, I prefer about a 2 week old but the 1-2 yrs olds taste good too if the cook knows what they are doing...Completely different than a mature wild ram.
I hate them too,we had some here and they pissed me off so bad I about gut shot them. I hardly see shooting a goat or anything in a preserve a trophy,I think I'd go hunt a WMA first.
You can get a hog hunt for the same price, and the meat is better. Plus, you learn some skills.
