as a kid the Italian family across the street raised pigeons, why not chickens? not sure, maybe it was a city thing or because they didn't have homing chickens. but they would eat some of them and use a funnel with the small end cut off to allow the birds head thru and a straight razor to cut the head off, then hang upside down.
My grandmother would grab the chicken by the head and do a windmill motion to kill it. Picture an old lady winding up like she's pitching fast pitch softball and that's grandma killing the chicken! LOL! Then she would cut the neck and hang it on a doorknob to let it bleed out.
Sounds gruesome when you think about it, but seemed normal at the time. LOL...
Santeria. Lol

I remember as a kid my grandparents had chickens in their back yard in Puerto Rico. My grandmother would show me the one she wanted and told me to go catch it. Those things were hard to catch as a kid. A few hours later we would be eating some of the best tasting chicken you've ever sunk your teeth into!
My mom told me When i was in P.R. Bout the time i was 3 i got nosey and peeked out the window at the top of the stairs, saw a huge rooster, it " cuk a doodle dooed" and i got so scared i fell down the stairs. Lol
So, if a rooster "cuk a doodle dooes" in P.R., is it in Spanish or English?
