Well i just went through the deep freezer and pulled out some pork from 2010. It smelled normal, so i seasoned it and put it in the fridge to cook for dinner.

Question is how long can meat last in a deep freezer before its bad? Mine are all in butcher freezer paper.

Well they dug up a mastadon frozen in the arctic and served it at some scientists banquet. It was 10,000 years old. I wouldn't go that long obviously. But if its air tight and not freezer burned I would say 5 years, as a guess?. I actually have a little bit from 10/11 season that's vacuum sealed and still looks fine to me. However my father in law brought over a prime rib for Christmas for me to cook last year. I unwrapped it and it was from 2007. It went to the garbage because it was plum nasty looking

My dad was cleaning out his freezer last year to fit some fish in it, and he found 3 packs of deer burger and 2 packs of sausage that had got shoved to the back behind some bags of ice. They were labeled from 2007, so he asked if I wanted them. Made some great spaghetti and chili!
