that guy could have been on the other end of that deal too though. it could have happened either way. its easy to say now what you would have done. its a bad situation with a decent outcome. no serious injuries and maybe all involved will be a bit more aware of whats going on around them. its easy to get caught up in a stalk and get tunnelvision.

We had no idea each other were in there. This particular block of woods is close to 1000 acres, and this hardwood line is slap dab in the middle of it. Yo wouldn't even know it was there without looking at an arial map. He did his homework, and so did I. I knew he was hunting there, but I SWORE he was working on another tree line on the other side of the block closer tot he road. Had I known he was in there with me I would not have moved up on those birds
My only gripe with him is he took a piss poor shot. When he shot all 5 turkeys were standing within 3' of each other and it was a long shot for him. Hell I was actually closer and they were not in range for me. Had they been in range of them he would have killed all 5 in one shot(and the limit is 1 per day)
The thing is we deck out in camo from head to toe for turkey hunting and dont wear orange.
This is the reason that rifles should not be legal in turkey season
