Pic of a rattler my friend shot, it almost crawled over him, we usally will let the snakes be, this one got a little too close. ironically i took the snakebite kit out of my pack a few days ago, to lighten the load, maybe i will put it back! be carefull out there guys.

At least the gobblers were gobbling there heads off this saturday, but would not show themselves.

Those snakebite kits will cause more harm than the snake bite will. Well maybe not, but it is not recommended to use them. Apply a tourniquet, remain calm (yeah right) and get to the hospital ASAP

Yea, i have heard that, but i think, that if you can get any of the venom out thats a good thing, i know what the medical folks say but....I often hunt alone, last weekend i was 3-4 miles from my truck, and with no cell service. i am going to have to try to walk/drag myself out if i get bit.

Wow. What a waste of a beautiful animal that wasn't harming you.
God forbid you stomp your foot or throw a pine cone to chase it away...
Hope you were on private land.
