Well I drew my first WMA turkey quota this year and filled the tag. Down where I was hunting the weather was not very good for turkey hunting on Saturday and Sunday and of course it cleared up nicely on Monday and Tuesday. I decided to play hookey for the first couple of hours on Tuesday from work and give it one last try. Tuesday was also the last day of my quota. I had two gobblers come in from behind me and when they didn't see the hen they were looking for started to get skiddish. They started so skirt around me and I had to stretch the barrel a little bit on my 870. I knew it was a long shot but it was the only one I had and they were going away from me. I paced it off at 57 yards! I shoot the Federal #6 in 3.5" with the flight contol wad. The bird was probably a 2 year old and had a 9" beard and weighed 15.5 lbs.

Very nice! Great shot at 57 yards. That's a Winchester model 12 shot! The old Winchester's model 12's Full choked were patterned for 40 yards at Winchester and that's why they make such great Trap/Duck/Turkey guns. Great job!
