I don't turkey hunt....but...
the turkeys on Blanding haven't been near as entertaining as past years. Usually I see them working the big field near my office hard. This year I haven't seen squat. I hope they've moved on somewhere nearby. I have found some hens in an area I run regularly. They come off roost when I run by in the mornings. But no toms.....
Forestry is burning HARD right now. Every day seems like they are burning a new area.
i didnt come home with any birds from the swamp, had a couple gobble, but never came within view. maybe i will try at upper hills wed or thur.
Skunked..had a blast with the boys though.
Dang cold saturday morning...warmed up a bit this morning.
Silence...never heard or saw one.
Hogs bout eat us up!
Did see 4 or 5 around Wesley Chapel out in the road construction on the way home.
I heard four and got on one but couldn't get him close enough on Saturday. There were as many hunters in the woods as open day of general gun season.
Blackpowderscout. Are you in the rod and gun club? I am and was just wondering if we hunt the same areas or if you hunt the wma. I've only been able to make it out once looking for turkeys, and that was last Saturday during the bad weather. Couldn't make it out till 11 but saw birds all over sr16 and only a couple hens inside blanding. Will be out there bright and early Saturday though so good luck to everybody.
