Yeah the land around the river is beautiful= nice hammocks from what I can remember.
Thank you, to all the fellas that responded. I have picked out a couple of spots I am going to scout tomorrow. Hopefully it will result in Dad getting a bird this weekend.
Well, got out to Aucilla and found a couple of good spots, saw birds there scouting earlier in the week. Didn't get one, but I did get my Dad hooked on turkey hunting. We got poured on for about 3 hours on Sunday, but still had a great time. He is already talking about another hunt. Thanks to all for your input.
Glad ya'll had a good time...we were up that way Saturday and it was miserable, and I wasn't even hunting 🙂
Did get to check out Big Bend Sporting Goods...what a cool place, was loaded with rained out hunters shooting the breeze.
We didn't make it that far. We got out of the woods early on Saturday and hung in it for the long haul on Sunday until about noon. I live in Tallahassee, so big bend is a bit farther than Aucilla for me.
Sounds like it would have been a good time, though.
