If you shoot a big hog you can lighten the load
by cutting the head off, I'd guess 1/3 of the weight is up there,
maybe not a third, but a good amount.
I don't think you would contaminate anything either.
As far as other big game and its the animal
of a life time,or one that's bigger than you thought before you
pulled the trigger, maybe time to quarter ,still would be a chore,
and time consuming, but should save your back and heart.
I would think even a young healthy guy weighing #200 trying
to drag a 200#, would be a chore

I recently bought that cabela's game cart that was on sale and the only thing I've used it for YET is the 2-man ladder stand (assembled in 2 pieces, big and ackward) and it kept tipping over on roots/branches etc. hopefully an animal will carry better/easier. in snow or sand a plastic tobagan works great. when young dumb and full of "energy" I would shoot first and worry about it later. after some very hard drags with help and no cart or anything I got older/wiser.

On the front end is the cart opening large enough to stand in. If so this will help also take roots and rooting fields slow and as straight on as possible.

We carted two pigs about 1/2 mile and two we just picked up in the boat .

about the cart. those removeable pins with the wire loops that would snag on underbrush and pull out I replaced with galv bolts. no it won't fold flat without tools but thats not realy an issue for me.
