I went hunting yesterday and jumped 6 or 7 hogs but never had a clear shot. So today I decided I'd hit the same area seeing the moon was covered up last night. Well sure enough as soon as I got out of my truck I could hear hogs in the palmettos off in the distance. I decided to wait for the sun to come up before entering the woods. Once it was light enough to see I slowly headed to towards the noise. The day before I found a few tangerine and lime trees in this area. Well thats were the ruckus was coming from. I waited for about 30 Min's listening to the hogs carry on the whole time before one Finlay popped it's head out. Thats all it took, I raised my 12 gage and let a slug fly at 35 yards. Pigs ran every were. Except the one, a nice healthy sow. I drug her back to the truck and continued hunting for about an hour. (Looks like she has gold teeth)

After I finished cleaning her I headed back out. Knowing the hogs were bedding up in the tall palmettos (6-7') I decided to head into that mess in hopes of jumping them up. I walked and crawled for a few hundred yards and then heard some crashing. I looked up to see the rear end of a hog about 15 feet in front of me. His head and body were covered by palmettos. I figured it was now or never, so I Guessed were his shoulder would be and let it rip. I fired one shot and the pig was gone. I could hear him running threw the palmettos. 😯
I started looking for blood and didn't find any. So I headed towards the direction he ran. After about 30 feet it looked like someone turned on a blood faucet. Knowing he would definitely bleed out I sat against a tree and waited for a while.
I continued the search after about 20 Min's following the blood for about 75 yards till it came to an end. It just so happened it ended at a big azz bee nest. I slowly searched for more blood trying not to disturb them. Well that didn't work so well, soon they were lighting my azz up!!!! Luckily I had a sweat shirt and camo pants on. I ran away after being bit in the face and waited for them to calm down. Then returned to try to relocate the blood trail. Soon I was being lit up by bees again. :bh: This time I ran off in a different direction, only to see a big black hog raping the hog I shot. 😯 He saw me at the same time and ran away. The next 30 Min's were spent dragging a boar threw the nastiest palmettos Florida has to offer. It turns out I shot him perfectly in the front leg but when it hit the bone it sent the slug downward and out his chest. It didn't hit any organs, just broke his leg and must have hit a major artery.
