you paid for an education, and that 23 acres was your classroom. worth every penny I'm sure. and I applaud your respect for the animal and sport for trying to learn as much as possible to be a responsible hunter. and BTW it looks like you both made some good shots. wish I could have afforded to start the same way.
I am not much for pen hunts, but without experience and for what you learned and meat too, why not. Hard to learn without buddies to take you and now you will feel much more confident in a wild natural enviroment. Congrats. What did you pay total, 1 of you with a hog? if you don't mind me asking if so just don't answer.
PM sent!!
Just think Terrell, you can teach others the right way now and have fun doing it! Good luck in future hunts!
It sounds like a great way to start hunting, if you've never experienced hunting and shooting. I appauld your efforts gents! I am not a fan of pen hunts either, but you have to learn some how. Alot of us are very lucky to have had or have hunting and shooting mentors in our lives. If I was interested in hunting and shooting and had never done it before, never been mentored or had a mentor, or fired a weapon at a wild animal I would have been right there with you. One more time and then you'll be prepared to sart scouting the WMA's for hog sign and plans of attack for your future hog hunts.
Strunes is right on the money!
Seriously??? A 23 acre fenced in hog hunt??? COME ON MAN
I'm sorry.. no i'm not... Thats a freakin hog pen.. not a hunt"Crichton has fenced off his 23 acre property, keeps it stocked with wild hogs captured by trappers and maintains a number of automated feeders with nearby stands and blinds. As a result, he can virtually guarantee a successful “hunt”."
Drank some Hatorade did we? It's still a ton of fun! It's kind of like getting a hooker, you know what the end result is going to be!!!! :tung
They are called Bud Selects :cheers and I love the hooker analogy.. pretty accurate
