I love it when some one brings up tiger bay it reminds of a place we use to camp when I was a youngin. I dont know much about the tiger bay your talking about but the advice about being early on most wma's I would pay attention to. There is a lot of good hunting out there on public land until it gets smothered. If you get up around my area give me a holler public or private if I can help ya I will. Some times I can and some times I cant.
Sounds like you have done allot of public land hunting. Tiger bay is the place i cut my teeth when it comes to hunting.
I love to hunt new areas, so I have hunted alot of the WMAs in Florida. Green Swamp, Richloam, Baird unit, Tiger Bay, Relay, Lake George, Lake Mary Dexter farms, Ocala NF, Osceola NF, Lower Swannee NWR, Arbuckle, Upper Hillsbough, Avon Park AFR, Bull Creek, Three Lakes, Croom, Half Moon, Seminole Forest, Caravelle Ranch, Cedar Key Scrub, and Rock Springs. I do hunt some private land but it is so hard to come by here in Florida, and I can't afford any leases. When you have to hunt cheap you learn to like public land. And I have been fortunate to take game on it.
It seems as though everyone I have talked to says the same thing --- the hunting there sucks! However I live a short bike ride from there so I might try and scout out a few places to see how it looks. Someone told me that the turkey hunting is good in there though.
No not that is sucks just its hard. The difference is there plenty of game but they are wise to the hunting game. So as the season goes on it gets harder and harder to see them. I have sat in there a many days some days nothing some day a dozen deer have walked by. I have a picture of me and a 10 from there hanging on the wall. So get there early in the season.
