as you said "take a quart of used motor oil and dump it in the sugar sand". yes I'm gonna soak some rags and use them as a scent attractant, then bring them home when I"m done. when you change the oil in you truck do you throw the old oil in your yard? look I don't wanna get in a pissing match on a public forum, so let's drop it or pm me if you must continue.
Wow.. guys going at it. Look heres how it is.. From my personal experience. You need to walk around. Sitting in one spot will give you 1 percent chance of seeing a hog. walking around will give you 99 percent more chance of getting a hog. Now deer are different. I personally do not hunt hogs from a stand unless im on my property hunting a feeder. Walk and Stalk. It works. I weigh 350 lbs and walk 10 miles no problem at all. Nacho i know you have health issues but if you want my opinion as a friend. Leave the bucket in the truck and walk and "HUNT THE WIND" its your best friend and can be your worst enemy. I know for a fact that oil on a tree will definitely attract hogs turning the tree into a rub point. Nacho if you dont want to do that .. Look up Black Gold Hog Attractant. It comes in a motor oil container and looks like motor oil and is made to do the same thing.
I have a friend that uses it. He emailed fwc and they said thats ok.
Would used vegetable oil work as well as motor oil? Some of that nasty ol' KFC or Chinese take-out leftover greasy oil would have to be something the hogs would enjoy.

Not sure.. i know the smell attracts them.. and diesel fuel drives them crazy. But not to him to eating a hog on diesel.. lol
Would save a step in scorching the hair off of em. Just have to light a match. Could call it the turbo roaster.
