I've got the Green Swamp West Hog Still hunt this weekend. I've only been in there once a few years back, so I don't really know the area that well. What type of areas do you start looking in? I've been reading your different posts and I see you talking about walking the palmettos. Do you walk the edge of them or just go through them?
I've also heard to sit in an area where I see fresh rooting. But that only shows where the hogs have been right?

Hopefully you guys can help me out with some different tips. I'm hoping this weekend turns my hunting season around so I don't end up skunked this year.

walk the edge of them if they are tall palmettos. if they are the smaller ones , you can walk through them. i try to stick to the grass lanes that seem to scattered throughout the palmettos. rooting shows where they have been, but real fresh rooting means they were just there. might be able to tail them and catch up. if there is something there (in the rooting) they usually will come back to it.
