If you cant walk a long way to scout, try driving the roads around a wma look for tracks crossing the road or rooting or game trails heading into woods, you can find spots this way and not have to walk so far just park and go in a ways and look around. If you can find a spot off the road you probably wont get all sweated up going in and you could use a ground blind and some cover scent to try to help cut down on smell.
