I was asked to go on a hog hunt in a couple of weeks, and it is a shotgun only, i have never hunted hog with a shotgun and probably won't do many with one, and don't own a shotgun, i was thinking of getting a single shot, in either a 12 or 20 gage. what do you think???

I think more than a one shot gun would be advisable esp for hogs. a 12 ga maverick ( made by mossberg and basicly identical except for the safety ) shouldn't cost much more than a single shot and you might be able to get a 2 bbl combo. but def 12 ga for hogs, never know when you may come across a big one.

12g.. and like to have a quick backup shot in the pipe. so no single shot for me.
