The Kissimmee PUA, which includes Starvation Slough, does not require any WMA stamp. Read the brochure I posted a link to and you'll find all that info, including what weapons can be used during the hunts. For general hunting and small game seasons, only a hunting license is needed unless you are hunting waterfowl, migratory birds, or turkeys, then you need the stamps for those which you get from the place you buy your license.
My understanding is that if you are hunting any WMA you must have a WMA stamp, I would have one just in case. I am not talking about a quota hunt I am talking about the stamp you buy at Walmart. Regardless, if you are going to hunt some other WMAs you might as well have one because you WILL get checked out there.
I think the difference is that Kissimmee is a PUA (Public Use Area) not a WMA (Wildlife Management Area). In the brochure for each public hunting area that FWC regulates, they specify what permits, licenses, stamps, etc. are needed for the hunts in that area.
The first paragraph under each hunt section tells you exactly what you need for that hunt. Nowhere does it mention WMA permit/stamp. I'll have to mapquest it from me...I might be interested in checking it out. I'm all about easy access...especially on foot.
I'm wanting to go out hunting this weekend.
What's the best WMA within reasonable driving distance from Clearwater for Hogs?
put your location in your profile. it makes it easier for people to know where you are from..
