It was an uneventful morning, really. Saw a huge flock of turkeys, like 15 + of them(got some cool go=pro video of them). All hens. I gave him a lesson as to why we couldn't shoot them
9:30 rolls around and he is ready to go, and honestly I was ready too. We were packing up bags up to leave, I looked up and a hog was there.

I told him "hog hog hog" and asked him if he wanted to shoot it. He said "heck yes!!"

Got the ear muffs on him, got him in front of me, and got the 870 on the shooting stick. I had plenty of time to make sure everything was ready. This gun has a red-dot scope so I turned it on and asked if he could see the dot. He said yes. I said to put it on his head and shoot when I said so. When the hog turned I pushed the safety off and he just took it upon himself to shoot. Lmao
It was all good because the hog hit the dirt and was squealing as loud as a hog could squeal. I grabbed the gun and racked it for him. The hog acted like it wanted to get up and I yelled "shooot again!!". Don't think the second shot was necessary and quite honestly, I don't think he hit it the second time regardless.
We gave some high fives and hugs. Couldn't be more proud of my little feller. I just hope my dad is smiling down on us today and is proud of my son, moreso than me. All I ever tried to be was half the father my dad was to me and I hope I am succeeding at it
