i know of some guys that trap hogs and sell them to the to the paid hunt guys. they do pretty good.
why would he be trapping so many? is he cutting and releasing them,relocating/ surely can't be eating all them.
Nacho, the state pays trappers just to get them off the property. There's a ranch by my house the state bought where the trapper has to kill them before he moves them. Unfortunately they're considered a game animal till the state gets your money, then they they go back to being a nuisance animal that needs eradicated. There's plenty of hogs in most places, the hunters just ain't killing enough of them. That's why I don't understand why they don't open up more dog hunting,a much more effective control than still hunting.
thanks for the reply's, think I got it now. the state takes our money to hunt hogs on wmas and state lands, then pays a bounty to trappers to ruin our hunts, nice. it would be nice if they left some areas alone for us hunters, w or w/o dogs, or limit the #'s they can take from our hunting land. and leave private land up to the landowner. I don't want to step on any trappers toes, but there must be plenty of private landowners/ farmers/orchards/etc that want to get rid of hogs especialy if it won't cost them anything.
He gives them away or eats them. If the state had half a damn brain they would open the season to year round on hogs, instead of paying people to trap them. But one again the bureaucrats know best.
