I've got my hog wild out and ready. Gonna go see if I can't sneak up on em in the morning before daylight. I'm thinking that since I didn't put anything fresh out for em tonight, they'll be back by for the feeder in the morning. And then I'll feed em some 40gr jhp outta my 22mag. Gonna bring the 270 though just in case that big hog shows up. I think the 22mag's would bounce offa him.

No photos on this one. I have some private land I run cattle on in Sumter County and the landowner invited me to thin out the hogs. I put out a scent dripper full of sow n heat last Sunday about fifteen yards from a Ground Max popup blind and gave it till this morning before slipping in with my bow.

Damon Howatt, "Dream Catcher", recurve. A fifty pounder flinging cedar shafts and two blded broadheads.

PapaJ, that forty grain pig-pellet fired from your .22Mag is enough to down the biggest hog. Just slip it in, right behind the ear, and he's tuck them legs underneath him anddrift off to sleep quite nicely! Take the .270 if you feel more comfortable, but that little .22 bullet has accounted for a mighty big pile of pork on the tailgates over the years.

I've been using my 22 mag alot, but only if in a tree and am using the cci maxi mags but am still on the fence over hp's vs solids, the only thing I've used it on so far is squirrels and coons and the hp's definately work better on them critters. but it seems that even tho both are 40 grs they don't shoot to the exact same spot. and I don't need to shoot beyond 50 yd's, there pretty close but got to get to the range and re-check.
