Ironcat, let me call a couple buddies and see how my green swamp west hunt goes, I'm sure I can round up a buddy with some dogs for ya or at least borrow a decent dog or two and come hunt with ya. You have any of the days filled so far?

Noone has picked a date yet though or gotten back to me as to whether their buddies are interested or not.

if you still hunt during a hog hunt you will hear where the dogs are so stay away. Its impossible to walk up on a dog hunt unless you are trying. If the dogs run towards you they are either on a trail or chasing something. Just stay on the roads and they will jump all the hogs running cross the roads. Most of the time they will bay one and the rest till run off.. If you do shot a hog that someones dogs were running be prepared to either share the meat or get nothing out of it. Most dog hunters will share the meat. And if your lucky they will let you stick one.. ... If your lucky.

Good luck.

I've never been on a dog hunt. I'd love to go though. If anyone wants to drag a newbie with them and show him the ropes on a dog hunt, let me know!

Bring a big sharp knife and be prepared to experience a different feeling then shooting one with a firearm. I wasn't and it overcame me a little. But i kept that to inside and really enjoyed the feeling of harvesting a hog in that manner. Skunk ape was very nice to take me and show me the whole dog hunting experience.
