Right now there's 4 of us ready to make the meat hog hunt on the 26th - me, Rusty, one of Rusty's friends, and fishindad. Anybody else out there interested in hunting with us, let me know so we can get everything planned.
Still trying to get my duck's in a row.
Sorry for the delayed response guys the replies didn't go to my phone and I've been in the woods. The difference between a trophy and a meat hog is the size of there cutters. A trophy has cutters an 1.5 "'s or longer. Size of the hog does not matter nor does the weapon you want to use. We use dogs spot n stalk tree stands ground blinds what ever we have to do to get the job done. Yes bring coolers and if you can bring wrapping paper and masking tape. I can show (those who need it) how to debone and get every thing ready for the freezer at the house or the grill come on. I will try to post more monday when my hunts are done. The next good weekend is March 26.
For anyone having difficulties understanding the guidelines please see TRAPPERDAN's post above. Seems pretty self explanatory to me and sound like a good time in the making! Good luck guys (and gals if any).
Thanks for stepping in above guys that was good info. still posting off a phone got busy won't make it to a computer for a few days. When I get to a puter I will make a long topic covering every thing to know about Ranches and Outfitters but for now here it goes. As stated above you can kill a trophy that are a lot of different weights. The Trophies that I hunt are judged by there teeth not there body size the reason for that is if you kill a 300 lb boar that doesn't have big enough teeth to mount your going to be pretty pissed at me when you have to shuck out 400 bucks for a little toothed hog. Especially when you see your buddies mount that's got 3 " teeth and nasty snarled up lips that might have weighed 180 lbs. We have meat hogs killed all the time that weigh over 200 lbs but I tell every one that our average is 100 to 120 lbs. Before you go hunting with any form of paid hunting it does not matter fenced no fenced I don't care talk tro your booking agent and find out what you are in for. I promise here the stories all the time that is why I am very clear on my hunts. I have 3 kids a wife and 2 grand kids this is my way of supporting them. Some times I don't make a hole lot of money at but I love doing it and meeting all of you. Now let's get ready for the 26th. Let's try to do 6 hunters that's 2 more stands to fill and I have a feeling they are going to fill fast. Goodoyster let's make that cookout happen that will be a blast.
I wish it was this weekend! I'll give you a call this week to talk over some details, trapper dan.
