Finally got some time today to post some extra pics. Crock1 got the best ones though. I will post a little extra storyline too.

Friday we got out there and my friend, my son, GoodOyster and I all packed together and stuff a Ford Expedition full of people, camping stuff, guns, ammo and coolers. It was pretty funny really. The multiple rifles and shotgun bags were clearly visible in the back window the vehicle was so full. We were laughing about what the folks behind us thought. LOL.

After we got up there the outfitters let my son practice his pellet rifle on a resetting target I purchased. For him that was a start of a good trip. Here is how I determined that. Like most parents, my kids want to play video games. I let him play his Nintendo on the way up in the car. Once he arrive, he never ONCE asked for the game system. He got to excel on his own with no interference and everyone there was supportive. I think all kids are enamored with campfires. My son really enjoyed being able to place the logs on the fire and get it roaring.

The crown royal (my beverage of choice) and other beverages started up after dark and we all ate a late dinner. The stories and music were great and well I know they continued long after I took my son back to the cabin to goto sleep. The laughing continued on for quite some time. The best part was my son got to see the real reason why hunters get together. The comradeship. I think we all were excited about the trip the next day.

The hunt began early and I was stressed until I saw someone got the coffee! I never found out who that was, but you rock! :rockon Some of us got stands some got blinds. I got a blind with my son. It was absolutely silent out there and then WHIRRRR!!! The feeder went off and made both my son and I jump. LOL. Nothing much happened until Trapper Dan came and got us. Some of the hogs were off in a side area and they had them spotted.

My son and I met up with the rest of the crew and proceeded to try and get them. We both went in and after a while my son got tired of dealing with the thorns. He was pretty disappointed that he was not going to be there when we found the hog. Crock1 found the last white hog and I got to take it out with my 3030. What the forum members did not know was the story behind that 3030.

Here is the short version. My youngest brother passed away a few years ago. That was his 3030 (given to he and my mother by our grandfather). He was 15 years younger than I and we spent very little time together and basically grew up separate as I was in college when he was in his teens. I received the rifle passed down to me as a storage area was begin cleaned out, just 2 weeks ago. The story that came with it is that my little brother always wanted to take that 3030 on a hog hunt but never got the chance. I never knew he wanted to do that until last week. He never even ever got to go hunting before he passed on. Little bro..... The hunt with that 3030 was for you. :toast

After we all got back we processed the pigs, asked a WHOLE LOT of questions and then had some lunch. Shortly after we sighted in a few guns and then packed it in and went home. Good times and Good company. It was great to meet every one of you. Not much else to say but, lets do it again soon.

Guys I had a great time on this hunt this was the kind of hunt that we will remember for a life time. From the campfire rite up to when we all departed we had a great time. The only thing I would have wanted to do would be to do it for the whole weekend so that we could have bs'ed more. I was tired at the end though. I would like to say thank you to every one that was there and for your comments above. I feel that we all left with something that we can take and use in the future. The pics are great but the stories that were told around that campfire, well I will stop there. Whats said at the campfire stays at the campfire. LMAO :censored
