I don't want to come off looking like a Rambo out there but plan on using 3 1/2" tri-ball 12 ga for hogs and would prefer the gun to hold 5 rounds. with the extended mag on my sbe I can hold 5 -3 1/2" rounds in the mag and still leave the chamber empty and not have to carry anymore shells in pockets or pack. I checked with fwc and they have no problem as long as it's hogs only. can anybody think of anything wrong with this or forsee any problems? in my whole life the most I've ever shot at one time was 4 rounds at a covey of grouse, got 3- had to hit 1 twice, and that was with a pump the sbe's a-lot faster.I will be hunting on a wma and hopefully private also.

The only restriction I am aware of for shotgun mag capacity is 3 for waterfowl and migratory game (dove, etc), and 4 rounds in a semi-automatic for deer. Other than that, I have not been able to find a single restriction that says that you can't have a shotgun that has a 50 round drum on it if it's not a semi-auto.

To each his own,no problem with that but hogs die just as easy with a 12ga 2 3/4 slug. Slugs are much cheaper.

True, biggest hog I ever got was taken with a .22 mag. Shot placement is more important than anything.....
