Had a 350+ barr hog charge me during bow season. This was years back and I was in a lease in Jena. He ran over 200 yards straight down a road to me. I went straight up a pine tree like a monkey(back then I wsestled and played football and could do that stuff)
He ran up to the bottom of the tree, rooted my bow around on the ground, and ran off in the woods
Scared the piss out of me
pretty much same situation here, I was at Avon Park,,,,, archery season, walked around a huge clump of palmettos, heading out to truck, about maybe 30 feet away, a big azz hog, probably at least 300 pounds, sucker came right at me as soon as he saw me, luckily a smallish oak with low branches right next to me,,,,, I jumped and got my azz up in that sucker, while throwin my bow at the hog as i jumped. it came right under me in the tree and just tore the crap out of a little palmetto near the base of the tree, then nonchalantly went away. saying it scared the piss out of me would be an understatement, I am to this day a liitle paranoid in the beack of my mind of hogs, especially during archery,,,,,, gen gun got my 45 on my hip, not to mention if not my 30 06, then a shottie with 00 as i am walking thru thick areas, maybe a slug in open,
My old crippled azz is no where near as quick and mobile as it once was
