I have been reading up on the gator regs lately and trying to figure out the how, what, when and where. I recently placed a call to the FWC and am waiting on a call back. I understand the reg etc. My problem is revolving around, where is it legal to hunt them? It appears there are some areas that require quotas, some areas that require other stuff. Some areas dont appear to have much info on them at all.
My hope this year is to get my 2 tags. I have no idea if I will be successful or not. Where or who would be a good place to talk to about "where" to go. Thoughts?
If you want to PM me verses posting, thats cool.

I don't know about your area , but maybe talk to guides around there . Also FWC has seminars normally a month before the season starts . Most guides go to the seminars and you can ask them some questions and get some gear . One thing about gator hunting is you better know your in the right spot .
I can answer any question you may have on gator hunting, besure to mention where the tag is for :chain
once you get ur permit unless it is specified like lake griffin you can hunt just that lake. now if you get a county .like lake county you need to find out which lakes have there own permits. like lake george ,lake griffin , or any other on the list. if they are not on the list like lake yale ,lake eustis you can hunt any body of water . hope this helps
Well I did get my tag in the second round. Looks like I am headed the 3rd hunting week to Lake Hancock. I cant wait! Now off to get the right supplies and outfit my crossbow!
