First time hunt on Okeechobee

Well had my first hunt on the big lake, west side and it was less than spectatular. Saw a few good gators in the daylight but nothing worth shooting after dark, not to mention the are all so spooked. I primarily hunted from the ramp at sportsmans village to the north in the perimter canal. I might just be a little spoiled from hunting in low quota areas previous to this. Anyone have any helpful words of advice or maybe some tips on other places to try on the west region of the lake.

Please keep in mind Im bow hunting on a flats boat.
