it got down to the mid 30's where we were last weekend. great weather, good times. would have been a lot more fun if our neighbors were cool. however they were a family of about 15 muslims and they were rude and loud. i know you can't have any guarantees of who your campmates will be in a state park, that was a new one on me. the people at the park, the camp host and rangers were all scared to tell them they were breaking any rules. we mentioned a couple things to them to be neighborly but that went over like a fart in church. they had construction lights, big halogens that lit up the trees around their sites and a couple others. i think they were afraid of the dark or something. kind of a wierd deal, but we made the best of it. my kids thought it was strange when they would roll out their mats or tarps and start praying torwards the east. my 7 year old had lots of questions about them.
I thought that everyone knew that the lights were to keep the "pork" from running through the camp at night.

I'd be neighborly and offer them a hot dog, or pork rinds, maybe a BLT. Tell them about the big hog you killed last year and cleaned right where they are camping...
after my first interaction with them, i did not want to talk with them at all. i was doing my best to not be a dick, mostly because my children were there. i do not believe that all muslims are assholes. i do believe that many of them are rude because of the reputation of the extremist that belong to their cult. i can understand why they some of them are not polite, but when people are nice, it should not be hard to be nice back, and they were not.
