Gonna be in the 30's tomorrow... Nice camping weather with a good camp fire....
Looks like it has rained three times since I was at my lease weekend before last(needed it badly), and finally some decent weather...and I am stuck at home till day after Christmas. I think we got another front coming later next week.
Heading up the 26th and staying till New Years eve. Can't wait to finally get to hunt the 3-4 days leading up to the full moon!
Yep, I'm heading up to Live Oak the day after Christmas. Gotta come home on Sat though cause we have some folks visiting from TN. Hope everyone has a good time in the woods over Christmas. Be careful out there and bring home the bacon...venison...etc. :toast
it's amazing, after a couple days of cold camping, how far away you can smell the coffee brewing on a crisp clear morning. and fighting over who's turn it is to get out of their bag first and start the fire. enjoy and good luck.
well my airboat not cold proof. made it to the camp Friday. Got up early to go hunt down the river and the boat would not start. Checked everything on the boat pulled every plug check everyone all fired. found nothing wrong then it started that afternoon. I was puzzled.
My buds showed up later Saturday I was concerned about getting stuck down the river so stayed by the camp. We decided to use there boat on Sunday morning.
neither of there boats would start seam we have a temperature range on our aircraft motors.
Beside that i only hunter 2 evenings and one morning saw only young hogs 20-40 lbs and then Sunday morn a sow and her piglets
all to small to shoot.
went out Saturday morn. how cold was it???? Well Jack Frost's privates were frozen. Had my headlamp on going to my ground blind and it looked like a crystal wonderland. Everything had ice crystals. It was really quite pretty until I realized I could not feel my toes. Only part that got cold though. I still love it though.
