I wish the walmart in hernando (19 and shd) would sell more hunting stuff, they got zero turkey hunting anything! I'm looking for a few simple friction calls and strikers without having to buy the whole beginers set up special with box, mouth and owl call included. guess I'm gonna have to go thru the mail or take a long drive. anybody have any knowledge of local shops?
YES i agree completely. i wish the walmarts by us would sell guns! i had to drive to land o lakes walmart to get my rem 700 because the walmart on 50 and on 19 said they didnt sell or cant even order guns besides muzzleloaders and BB guns. i know of a couple shops but i dont know what they have for turkey. for bow stuff i go to log cabin in LOL, and maybe try fort huffstetler on 50, ive only been there once but they had an ok selection of bows and guns once again i dont know what they got for turkey. and dicks sporting goods aint too bad of a drive from you.
If I want to get anything at Wal Mart hunting related, I have to stop at the one in Chiefland on the way to my hunt camp. And even it is not like it used to be. Back in the day, they used to have tripods and ladder stands set up in the parking lot, and sporting goods took up 1/3 of the store. You could actually go there and get some camo. Now its about 2 aisles worth. their turkey hunting supply(as of last weekend) was 1/2 of one aisle. That was shells, vests, dekes, calls, and camo.
Dick's sporting goods is way over priced. I am on the rewards program, and get coupons regularly. Without them I wouldn't shop there ever
yup, internet shopping is taking over. i bet it would be real hard to compete with internet prices if you privately owned a good huntin shop. honestly i rarely go places to buy huntin stuff, i just look online comparing prices and reading reviews because most stores are way more expensive than what youll find online. now with gas going up to supposibly $5 with my v8 truck ill probably be buying online even more!

Our kmart and walmart use to be the same way as Chiefland's. Since walmart has ditched alot of their hunting inventory I just shop online and sometimes at kmart.
