yeah and disney is a real bargain too. sorry you didn't have a good time, but you hit all the major tourist traps, 3 places and "everything else", realy everything? that would take years and are judging all of them by the few you saw. and went to none of the places I tried to steer you to where you may have actualy had a good time. way to keep an open mind. I know when I go back I'm gonna have a blast without spending a ton and will avoid the tourists, just like you need to do down here. I experienced all florida has to offer, I went to disney, epcot and weeki wachee,LOL.
i was out 4 days non stop 10am-3am ish doing crap. way more than i mentioned, those were just the major things people go for. and of everything i did i was not impressed one bit. seems like more people agree with me than i thought would. ok ok ok rag on florida like all the yanks that live here do and all i have to say is,,, why did you move here then? go back! haha no offense but i hear it 24/7 how crappy florida is from yankees at my work and it is so annoying. what does florida have to offer? way better weather by far, good beaches (although i am not a fan of sitting on beaches unless its in shade with a cooler full of beer), better fishing, no snow, trucks (seen like 1 or 2 trucks aside from work trucks in nyc haha and i missed the sight of a nice lifted truck), not snow, rednecks, girls that arent 1000% into themselves, not getting asked for money everytime you walk somewhere, decent huntin, tampa/orlando if you must be in a city, people wearing camo ( ive never felt out of place to wear a camo hat and some justins till NY), dont have to worry about gettin pick pocketed( i had my hand on my ass checking if my wallet was there the entire time, i must have looked pretty gay), and you can drive somewhere not bumper to bumper and without constant honking. just a little story that really made me mad, my girlfriend got yelled at by a cop in times square for taking pictures! i was getting pizza and while i was i guess the cop yelled at her and said no one can take pics because there afraid because of they were recently attacked haha. thats BS right there if you ask me. nothing against you nacho, and i know its your homeland and whatnot but im just saying, it SUCKS! hhaha .. dont take this the wrong way brotha guess i just dont understand the whole "big time citylife"
no offense taken but it takes a while to learn where the good things/places are in any new area and don't think you realy gave it a fair chance. I'm not one of those Yanks that dis the south, theres a lot of things I do like about down here, just saying each has it's own good and bad. not all N.Y. is manhatan there are incredible ocean beaches, mountains, lakes, rivers and spring fed streams with trout up to 10 lbs, huge deer with big racks,ducks/geese,grouse, turkey. not to mention culture if your into that museums, concerts, restaurants, sports, broadway and 300 year old bars, but a lot of it is crowded/noisy and expensive and I rarely went into manhatan without a specific reason for going and always felt dirty when I got back, but usualy had fun. there are dangerous parts of towns here as well as there. I don't miss the cold and shoveling snow, but do miss hunting in it without having to worry about skeeters or snakes. like I said good and bad in each and I chose here, so I obviously don't hate it, just miss my home, friends, family and food sometimes, just like you would if you left here.
You couldn't pay me to go. Unless it was upstate NY. If I ever am in New york city, please send help.... I try my best to get away from crowds on the weekends, at least.
My wifes family is from Long Island. Been here since my wife was a little girl. They frequent a NY pizza joint here in Tampa (owned by a couple tally's from the Bronx) that they rant and rave about how good it is. We were there a few weeks ago for my mother in laws birthday, and I refused to eat the pizza. I made me 3 bologna sammiches on white bread before we went there so I didn't have to eat it.
My FIL asked me why I wasn't eating. I simply said, because I think the pizza here is disgusting. Its too gooey, tastes like glue, grease dripping off of it, and the crust is burnt. Plus the sausage has too much sage in it. I asked him how close it is to authentic NY pizza in NY city...he said it was authentic, and as good or better than he had growing up. I told him they could keep authentic NY food then, and I'll stick to my pork chops and collard greens
Well, maybe if cracker had nacho show him around next time he could have a better time! I saw NYC once from Colts Neck, NJ - some kind of ammo supply place. You have to keep an open mind. I'm sure the best spots are the ones off the beaten path. And as for people asking for money?? They seem to be at almost every red light out of city limits in my area around here. I'm a born and raised Fl cracker, but I do enjoy indulging in another's area from time to time. Izmir, Turkey - Villefranche, Fr? I used to live in Detroit for a very short time. Detroit itself sucks - but the outskirts and suburbs are great!
nobody wants to hear bad things about their home, even if they are true, and a lot of people (for the most part) are usualy a little biased towards where they were raised. the only place it would be OK to rank on would be JERSEY (a favorite N.Y. passtime), JK Carlos
