AND I NEVER PLAN ON GOING BACK! WAY overrated. ok the pizza is NOT any different than pizza in florida! the only thing i was amused by was the cab rides (except how expensive they are) but those dudes are CRAZY. i stayed IN times square and did everything from statue of liberty, empire sb, central park, and everything else. if you havent been, DONT go ! haha. i work with ALL new yorkers and have been hearing every day about how great it is and i was seriously bummed. walking down the street being begged to buy tickets and stolen sunglasses by black dudes doesnt make it any better either. i dont have anything good to say about the place really. i bet anyone on here from ny is going to get mad at this but no hard feelings just trying to save some people on here thousands of dollars ( everything is way overpriced).
Amen, brother! I had to go up there once a few years ago to do some work on a machine at Beth Israel Hospital. Didn't have a lot of time to sight-see, but what little I did see was not impressive. Have no desire to go back. I'm just glad I was spending the bossman's money, and getting paid to do it! For part of the trip I had to travel over to New Jersey and go north to a small town called Allendale, and I must say there is some pretty country once you get out of the cities up there. Just couldn't get used to not pumping my own gas while in NJ, having to let some :arabia do it for me.
yeah and disney is a real bargain too. sorry you didn't have a good time, but you hit all the major tourist traps, 3 places and "everything else", realy everything? that would take years and are judging all of them by the few you saw. and went to none of the places I tried to steer you to where you may have actualy had a good time. way to keep an open mind. I know when I go back I'm gonna have a blast without spending a ton and will avoid the tourists, just like you need to do down here. I experienced all florida has to offer, I went to disney, epcot and weeki wachee,LOL.
Went to nyc when i was young about twelve. Still have those nasty images in my head. My wife loves it. I can't understand that.
used to go there on leave from Ft. Dix , N.J. just about every weekend. Loved watching the people-Port Authority was a blast-and just seeing a huge city. Miami wasn't all that big back then. I splurged and stayed at the "Y". But that is another story-adventure.
