Some of you dudes have all the fun :rolleyes ! I haven't had to fight with a bear or a hog on our place or on our lease. I know that hogs and bears are very destructive and I reckon we just live in an unusual area as there are very few hogs in the woods and almost no bear sightings. A bear was killed on the highway last year, about 2 miles from the house and the hogs are several miles away. I used to fuss about the coons and tree rats eating too much corn but seeing the pictures of the bear tearing up a feeder makes me realize how much extra expense and aggravation bears and hogs cause. But on the other hand we can compete in the rain contest! We are a few drops shy of 70 inches since January.

I agree as well. But when roads are closed or washed out and rivers are over bridges, and mud ruts up to your doors where you can't even get to the woods it's a problem at that point
