I would ever have to do this. My first self injection of insulin
Damn Dave
Sorry you are having to go that route. I am doing my best to avoid all these meds. Had to watch my dad shoot up the last few years he was alive
I am a type 1, so I have been doing this 3-5 times a day since I was 12yo. Figure out what works for you to manage those glucose levels. If you must take insulin, get the starches down so you can at least reduce the amount of insulin you take. It can contribute to weight gain, so be mindful. I myself have about 70 lbs. to lose, and being on meds for 22 years plus poor lifestyle choices has contributed to this. Take care.
I am fighting that needle right now. had to get off metformin so new meds now. I have actually taken myself off coca cola-maybe one a week-and really watching the carbs. that needle scares me when I have to self inject. don't know if I can do it. started walking again to drop some weight.
metformin was killing me. Doc put me on Lantus in a dose pen. taking 10 units a day. The onlt needle I have ever used myself have been tattoo needles. The needle on the pen is very small and I was a bit scared at first. Once it hit the skin it just sunk in and never felt a thing. I checked it a few min. ago after 2.5hrs after injection and it was 300 :hang
