I think each store really goes on what sells locally. I've been in some WM's that are chock full of hunting gear, but the store in the next town over has squat!
I wasn't aware of the current owners' political bent, but it sure would explain a lot. In any case, I agree that ol' Sam is probably not in the same posture he was when they laid him down! Remember when they used to go to towns with American companies that were going under and give them orders to help keep them afloat?
