Any tv repair guys or gals on the site(pinellas county). My 57'' hitachi just died. no power I have checked all the basics like fuses and outlet. I dont see anything that looks burned up. I really dont want to buy a new 3d smart tv right before Christmas, well yes I do but not on the top of the money list.
What year is your TV? I just fixed my samsung LCD, it was giving me a check fan error, then would shut off. I ordered a new fan, and installed it, real simple, and i had never done it before.
if it is not powering on at all, it is most likely the power supply. I don't know how electronic savvy you are, if you are feeling adventurous, lay in flat on a table(put a blanket or something to protect the screen, and pull the back off, carefully label where the screws came out, i made a rough sketch on a piece of paper, then stuck the screws thru the paper so I know where they came out. look for hidden screws too, particularly where the cable connections are made.
look where the power cord comes in., (if you have a removable power cord, use a voltmeter, if you have one,to test the cord itself) see if there is obvious visable damage, or if you have a meter, try testing to see if power is coming in. you will have to plug it in at this point, so be careful.
you can also try a internet search for you TV's model and the issue, most likely you are not the only one to have this problem. try youtube also.
again, if you don't feel comfortable doing this, don't. observe basic electrical safety rules, and taking it apart may void any warranties you have.

Before you do anything technical I would like to ask if you tripped a switch. I know that some houses (mostly newer) have the switches on the wall that shut outlets off. I have tripped mine on accident before and nothing turns on. Or if you have it plugged into a surge protector that might be switched. Figured I would suggest something minor before you got into the big stuff.
its an 06 rear projection. It has power coming in when you push the power button you hear it turn on but the red power light doesnt come on no pic no sound. I have to be carefull with any electrical due to a heart condition.
I have a dlp that when the bulb goes out it does the same thing. It powers up but no light or sound. I have swapped it out twice in the last 5 years and it always comes right back on.
