Hey guys I have read a little about sheds. Everything I have read it seems like most people that hunt for deer sheds do this out west. Haven't really heard too much about it in FL. Does anybody here look for them? Is there any tricks to finding them?

I think these Florida swamps swallow them. Plus the leaves fall about the same time the deer shed. I have hunted here in Fl since I was 4, I am now 38. I have found a total of 1 shed. Every single time I go hunt my buddys farm in Ga, I find a shed

I've been pretty lucky at finding sheds. I have a 5 gal bucket full of sheds found on the public lands that I hunt. I have more med to large sheds than small ones. I just spend as much time as I can in the off season scouting the areas I know or have seen bucks. First week of may seems to be when most of them drop and have a better chance of spotting them above the vegetation. Hunted a 150acre piece of private land since I was 13 now I am 38 and have only found one small forked shed.

JBUG is correct... or animals period... found an old kill (6 pt) once a few days later and most of the points were gone already... so i'd figure unless you find them fairly new I doubt you'll find 'em at all unless you have a private pc of property you wander frequently
