You don't scar. Here are some pic's of a true sundancer.
This is a prayer ceremony. You don't do it to get a vision from the great spirit. You stated that you dance untill the bones come out. That is part true. You dance untill the bones rip out of your skin or the rope that is tied to both sides of the bone that is going through your skin breaks.
And I state again.
Niya yuha woglake wanjialo, niya gluha ospewakiye?
Miye hicheca waka kikuyu pi Iyeska yelo wikcemna num numpa omaka yalo!
Wiwayakwacipi niya?
Takunl sicamna. Iye sini tatanka tatukce kiya ble yalo.
And the translation is.
Have you figured out you have been talking to one? I’ve been married to a half blood for 22 years!
You Sundanced? Something stinks. And I can see it ain’t the buffalo shart.
First off as I stated I am Cherokee the languge you keep putting up sounds like Ojibwe Ours is Iroquoian. My great uncle was a Cherokee chief. If you dont belive me thats fine I dont feel I have to prove myself to you. With that said let me explain how I ended up at with the plains tribes at the sundance. In the early 80's there was a big movement to free Leonerd Peltier. I had a good friend that I worked with that was Siox. He was very active in the freeing Peltier movement. He had a group of friends that held sweat lodges every weekend and I started attending them with his group. The group went to sundance and asked if I wanted to travel with them and I jumped at the oppertunity. As for the bones I do not remember them being as big as your picture but yes you dance until they rip out. All of what you just stated was allready posted exept for the picture. I know my friend who now works for the circus probably still has pictures from our trip and I will try to get ahold of them so I can post them. Last I herd my friend was in Japan working a circus. If you think I am full of buffalo shart thats fine but I was there.
P.S. You should be able to tell about my bloodline from the way I hunt. That was learned from hunting with the Seminole tribe on the Brighton reservation. They learn an animal before they hunt it they almost become the animal. I have mastered this with turkey and hog but I will admit I still dont have the deer down.

I appreciate your response and as a Brother of another Nation, I'm sure you can understand where I was coming from when it comes to discussing the most important of the seven sacred ceremonies. You were very close by recognizing the language I posted as being Sioux. My wife is half-blood Lakota and grew up on Pine Ridge.
I don't recall seeing in your posts anything mentioning your Cherokee ancestory and I won't call into question anything regarding how "Pure blood" you are. I'm sure you understand, though, that alot of people say they are "Great grandson of this chief" or "Grand-daughter of Tribal Princess So-and-So." And it gets almost laughable after a while. Growing up around the culture, I'm sure you know where I'm coming from.
I know I came off as skeptical, and truth be known, I am, but after over 20 years of being submersed in Lakota tradition, I know what an earned privilege it is to be asked to participate in ceremonies like Sundance and Ghost Dance. If you say you Sundanced, I wasn't there. I can't tell you that you didn't. But I do know how hard it is for a white man or anyone from another tribal nation to be asked to participate. I can understand dancing for Leonard, though. To this day, he needs all the prayers he can get.
My "red flag" so to say, was when you stated you danced for visions from The Creator. Thats not the purpose of Sundance. To Cry for a Vision is another whole ceremony in itself. My son did it when he was 13 and was sent out and isolated for 3 days.
crOck is sincere about wanting to learn the ways of the People. He meant no disrespect when asking about the scarring. All I know is the Plains, and I've proven I can run with the Dogs. I don't know the ways of the Southeast tribes. If you have input on the ways of your People, please, by all means, share what you know.
No offense taken. I have not spent alot of time with plains Tribes. Yes I think Leonerd got a bum deal and the feds had no right to even be on sacred ground. Maybe it was crock that I told my history to in a pm. I thought I posted it hear, my mistake. I am not as active as I once was. I guess I let life get in the way, But I can tell you to this day I have worked and not accepted columbus day as a holiday. I still dont acept the term indian they were named by the first expolers or invaders how ever you want to lok at it. We should be called native americans becuase thats what we are. The term indian came from some one that was lost and I dont want to give them the authority to name my people. I understand what you are talking about the ancestory it seems most pick Cherokee.
As for crock I dont doubt his sencarity about wanting to dance. I told him to plead his case with the Seminole council they seem more acepting of outsiders, But he does have to understand that most dances are held sacred to the Tribe.
