This is a prayer ceremony. You don't do it to get a vision from the great spirit. You stated that you dance untill the bones come out. That is part true. You dance untill the bones rip out of your skin or the rope that is tied to both sides of the bone that is going through your skin breaks.

i dont think the post has turned into a joke.. I really want to take part in a sundance.. and from what im reading i have to pay my dues to actually gain the trust to be invited to take part in one.
I dont think they do the bones in the skin any more.. From what i saw online its just mainly just dancing around , and fasting for 4 days. I know theres still something with bones.. i dot remember what it was exactly but i think i read something about now they put a bone necklass on your neck or maybee in your skin and you have to dance until they fall out.. I gotta go to the next pow wow and ask someone about the way its done now.
I think bodysnatcher just was sitting back and just knew more about it then we thought. At any rate thats great that we have some Native American Indians on the forum!
