use an ankle brace and DMSO, there are elastic or hard sided braces...use one, I have both...lol
You going to see Dr. Guttentag? He did my friends surgery. His partner Dr. Gray did surgery on my wrist. He was telling me that he did surgery for the Lightning and Bucs. All kinds of Lightning gear on the wall of his office.
Hopefully you won't need surgery cause the rehab will be the worst part. Fell better...
**UPDATE**
I went and saw an orthopedist today.
Good news-nothing broken, no cast, no surgery needed.
Bad news-I have to wear a Star Wars looking brace for quite a while, probably a couple months. Also gonna have to go for physical therapy until they tell me otherwise.
This thing is not very comfortable, but at least I have support in the ankle where I don't feel like it is gonna give out on me every step. I am just so fortunate I didn't have to have surgery, I saw people with stitches from toe to heel. Glad I'm not one of them..
crutches are pretty much BS, they are uncomfortable and difficult to learn how to use properly, plus you need to use both your hands to operate so you can't carry anything and a main reason people will try and do something without them and end up further aggravating the problem. don't know why they don't just go right to the brace or air cast, probably some insurance reimbursement reason. you will still be hobbling around but at least be hands free,or maybe a cane as well.
Just do what the Doc. tell's you.
