well i know some of you have been slow with work for a while. it is really starting to hit our company too. looks like we will have mandatory cut backs all around. i hope we dont have to resort to lay-offs, although we will most likely lose many of our perks. that is all fine with me as long as it saves our jobs and everyone at the shop cuts the fat where they need to. i think we are going to drop to a 4 day work week and lose take home vehicle privileges. not a huge deal, but it will definately affect the bank account. looks like ill be pedaling to work for a while. dont need to increase my fuel bill with my hours decreasing. hopefully it will go by quickly and this lull in things wont last too long.
SUCKS.
Sorry to here that.
such is life. like i say, not that big of a deal til people start losing jobs.
It's getting tough. I bet I've put in 100 proposals and bids in the last 2 weeks, and haven't gotten anything to count on. I ended up selling my Dodge 4x4 a couple weeks ago, and all that went to pay bills. My son has quit college and moved back home while he waits to go into the Air Force. So with him home I can use my Mazda truck he'd been using over in Boca Raton. If something happens to keep him from going into the Air Force, he'll have to find a job and get his own vehicle! He's waiting on a waiver for his eyesight, which is just outside the usual limits.
I'm going to have to look for a job myself if things don't pick up soon. Problem is I've been self-employed for so many years, and it makes it tough to answer some questions on applications. At least I know my boss will give me a good review!
