A long time family friend went to better fishing grounds today. He was a snow bird that owns the house next to ours in Steinhatchee. He would come down every October and go back to Canada in April every year. This man has been like an uncle to me since I was a kid. This year his health went down the tube. He had severe diabetes and developed blood clots. They did not make it down this year due to his health. He lost his battle this morning. 82 years old. My mom is not taking the news well at all
This man was a fishing machine. He would fish just about every day of the winter that the weather would allow. And he would catch fish too. He was easy to spot too. The only boat in the Steinhatchee river trolling mirr-o-lures right down the channel. Maybe the trout will breathe a sigh of relief now !!!!!
You will be deeply missed ole buddy. Keep the lines tight and catch a big one with my dad up there. Save a few for me
