This fire has been burning for a little over a week. The neighbors love me. lol Just added a mountain of oak leaves to it.

in Colorado you could be fined for leaving a fire unattended for ANY length of time, even fishing a hundred yds away. not sure what your local ordinances are, but if a wind blew an ember from your fire that started another, I would think you could be held responsible, unless you have some kind of permit.

Well this ain't Colorado. :hammer It was originally lit when it was foggy and no wind. Now it's been smoldering for about a week not much in the way of ashes. Geeesh you sound like my neighbors, buzz kill! :clap

not trying to lecture. I was lucky enough to talk my way out of a ticket for a small cooking fire with a fire ring, only hours old and I was less than 100 yds away lakeside with nothing around but rocks. with all the brush fires down here I thought they might be a little strict about such things. youre a big boy and can do as you please.
