I am looking at a land opportunity up around Jasper, Fl. Wanted to reach out to our members who live up that way and get your opinions on the area. Don't hold anything back, I want to hear the good, the bad and the ugly. If you have some remarks that your prefer not to share openly, feel free to PM me.
Based on what I researched so far, it looks like a lightly populated area, laid back. How are the WMA's up that way, I seen the Twin River's WMA, anything else up that way I need to know about with regards to hunting? Lets hear it.
Twin River is normally hard to get the better hunts on, if I am thinking about the one my brother and his friends like. They leave good private land to go hunt it that it is so good.
Twin rivers is an excellent WMA if you do your homework - surrounded by lots of private land as well as the SRWMD land if I'm not mistaken.
Lots of hunting leases up that way.
The town of Jasper is nice and friendly. LOVE the hardware store!
Plus if you need to run into the bigger town for anything Lake City isn't too far.
I've got a friend that moved up to Jasper recently. He really likes it. He bought 10 acres and put his camper trailer on it. He set out a feeder and the bears tore it up. :>P
